HYLAND RADIO AD HAS ROMANTIC THEME PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2/2/2000 Streaming Audio (Lower quality/ faster loading)
Non-Streaming Audio (Higher quality/slower loading)
In her latest radio commercial, Marilyn Hyland uses love to poke fun at County Commissioner Bob Bedinghaus and the Bengals stadium lease. The 60-second spot began airing today on 55KRC, WSAI and WCIN. The commercial features three characters discussing valentines. "If I was Mike Brown, I'd give one to Bob Bedinghaus," says one man. "Yeah, that stadium deal was sweeter than a box of chocolates," says another. "The Bengals made out like Don Juan!" the first man responds. The characters complain about the millions of dollars in penalties and guaranteed ticket sales that are part of the lease agreement. One of characters notes that the Bengals are even getting more than $300,000 worth of hot tubs. "I wonder if they're shaped like hearts?" ponders a woman. As she did in her first commercial, which began airing last week, Ms. Hyland concludes by demanding that Bob Bedinghaus renegotiate the Bengals stadium lease. She also mentions some of her other issues, including: protecting property owners' rights, fighting E-Check, building commuter rail, and cleaning up highway litter. Ms. Hyland is running against Todd Portune in the March 7 Democratic primary. The winner will face Republican incumbent Bob Bedinghaus in the November general election.
